A domain EPP key (Authorization code) is a string of random letters and numbers used to prevent domain hijackers from transferring a domain without the owner's permission. Domain EPP key (Authorization code) must be retrieved from the current domain registrar.

What are the steps involved in the domain transfer process?

Submit a request to your current domain registrar to request for the domain EPP key (Authorization code).

Your current registrar may email the domain EPP key (Authorization code) to you OR your current registrar may provide you steps how to retrieve the domain EPP key (Authorization code) through their website.

Submit the domain EPP key (Authorization code) to our Support through our online support form. Otherwise you may forward the steps provided by your current registrar together with the username and password to us and we can retrieve domain EPP key (Authorization code) on behalf.

After we initiate the domain transfer with the domain EPP key (Authorization code), your current registrar may contact you by email to request you to confirm the domain transfer. Follow the steps provided in the email to authorize the domain transfer.

The domain transfer is completed after your current registrar approves the domain transfer and the central domain registry changes the registrar for your domain. Transfers can take anywhere from 5 - 15 days, depending on how fast each step can be completed.

In most cases, it should not affect your website and email because we do not change the name servers for your domain during the transfer process. However, some registrars bind your website and email closely together with your domain and this may affect your website and email during the domain transfer.
